Progress on Part 3 of the series “A Twenty-First-Century Bible” continues to go well. I have completed 40% of the translation, and am still on track to complete the first draft by 30th June 2016.
Of course, one of the complications with Part 3 has been the problem of where to end the book. After all, it was (and still is) my intention to end it with the destruction of Jerusalem, so Book 4 (Exile and Restoration) can pick up the remaining Old Testament material.
However, considering that the prophets Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel were all active before and after the fall, and the books of 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles and Isaiah include material relevant to both historical periods, a substantial amount of Book 4 may need to be written prior to Book 3 being published.
Despite that, I am still hopeful that Part 3 will become available about April 2018.
