I’m sorry to say that I have found the need to close my Facebook account. Unfortunately, I have found Facebook to be very unfriendly. Indeed, it creates far more work and consumes far more time than is reasonable. So, it has become more of a burden than a helpful tool.
Now some of you may be aware that I had a lot of trouble a couple of months ago reconfiguring the account to reflect my changing needs. Nevertheless, even after Facebook had a change of heart, they still refused to recognise my normal business email address. Furthermore, I am being constantly bombarded with messages to consider new friends and write more blog—despite all that I have done to make that manageable. I even removed Facebook off my mobile phone. But all that achieved was that I have become bombarded with text messages instead.
It’s like Facebook is a spoilt child, who wants plenty of attention, and assumes its members have nothing better to do than to use the software all day every day. Not very business friendly at all.
As a consequence, this will be the last article I will be lodging on my Facebook account. I have also decided to completely delete the account effective from 31st August 2018.
For those who are still interested in reading my various blogs, they will continue to be published online on my website: brianacurtis.com.au.
Thank you to all my past and current Facebook readers. I just hope that we can still meet on the web—just somewhere more user friendly than Facebook.
